Marketing

About the program

Marketing involves much more than just developing promotional campaigns. While that’s often part of it, marketing is a core business function, helping to shape and execute business strategy and drive overall success. You’ll be at the forefront, putting your creativity to work to not only inspire great ideas, but also inspire yourself.

Because nearly every business or organization has a marketing function—in addition to advertising agencies, consultancies, and PR firms who are devoted strictly to this kind of work—you’ll find that there are many career opportunities.

Marketing uses creative and analytical skills to solve problems and develop solutions that will profit the company and please the consumer. These degree programs mold students into leaders with management courses. General education courses are necessary in addition to some statistics, finance and computer science courses. Students will learn about advertising, brand marketing, market research, sales promotion and retail along with trend analysis and the growing e-commerce industry as well as product development, consumer decision making, pricing, global marketing and legal issues with marketing.
