WalletHub’s ‘Ask the Experts’ Features Professors Burkhardt, Holloway

April 18, 2025
Two men in business attire, including WalletHub’s Professor Burkhardt, pose for professional headshots against different studio backgrounds for the Ask the Experts series.

WalletHub’s “Ask the Experts” now features new expertise from Dr. Daniel H. Holloway and Dr. Michael L. Burkhardt.

Dr. Burkhardt leads Northwood’s Insurance Risk Management Program and is a certified Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). On WalletHub, Dr. Burkhardt discusses why insurance rates (and even providers) vary so much from state to state. He weighs in on whether it’s riskier to drive in some cities and states than others, and what state and local governments can do to promote cheap car insurance rates for their constituents. He also answers why credit history impacts car insurance rates in some states. Lastly, he addresses whether inexpensive car insurance is bad insurance.

Dr. Holloway is an adjunct faculty member from the DeVos Graduate School at Northwood University. On WalletHub, Dr. Holloway discusses whether car insurance companies really can save drivers as much as they advertise, and the most important things to look for when shopping for car insurance. He also weighs in on the best way to save on car insurance and shares advice for someone shopping for car insurance for the first time.
