Northwood University proudly announces that Dr. Andrew Anderson, Associate Professor of Marketing, has been appointed to the American Marketing Association’s Collegiate Chapters Council, a prestigious leadership body that supports AMA collegiate chapters across the nation.

With more than a decade of academic and industry experience in marketing, sales, and leadership development, Dr. Anderson is passionate about mentoring future marketers and he has a deep connection to the AMA. A former AMA student chapter president, he has served as the faculty advisor for Northwood’s nationally recognized AMA chapter for the past five years, guiding the chapter’s 38 student members through numerous conferences, competitions, and professional development experiences.

Under his leadership, Northwood’s AMA Chapter has consistently expanded its presence and impact. Most recently, the chapter successfully hosted a multi-university Perfect Pitch Competition that welcomed 30 students from four Michigan institutions, illustrating Northwood’s role as a hub for student-led innovation and real-world business engagement.

“As both a proud AMA alumnus and educator, this national appointment is an opportunity for me to give back to an organization that has shaped my career,” stated Dr. Anderson. “AMA opened professional doors for me early on, from serving as an undergraduate chapter president to becoming an active professional member. It’s incredibly rewarding to now help students discover the same marketing and sales opportunities that inspired my own journey.”

The Collegiate Chapters Council works alongside the AMA Support Center to design, implement, and assess programming that supports over 300 AMA collegiate chapters. This includes organizing the AMA International Collegiate Conference, a signature event that equips marketing students with real-world skills and unmatched networking opportunities.

“We are thrilled to see Dr. Anderson take on this important national leadership role,” stated Northwood Academic Dean Dr. Stacey Tetloff. “His appointment reflects Northwood’s commitment to experiential learning and academic excellence — and it underscores the extraordinary mentorship our students receive.”
