Northwood University Exports American Business Philosophy to China

Northwood University’s Dr. David Spaulding spent the first weeks of the New Year teaching American Business Philosophy to students at Jiangnan University in Wuxi, People’s Republic of China. Jiangnan University provides Chinese students a western-style education conducted in English. The challenges for both students and instructors are substantial. “The essential task is always to take complex ideas and make them accessible—especially when students are working in my language, not theirs,” says Spaulding.Dr. Spaulding is usually found preparing American students for productive business careers in classrooms at Northwood University’s campus in Cedar Hill, Texas.
