As a delicious homage to the 1970s, Northwood University students are announcing “Disco: Dine & Do the Hustle” is the theme of the 52nd Stafford Dinner.

“This theme has been widely requested by leadership and alumni for years, so when our executive board presented the idea, we knew it was the perfect fit,” said Co-advisor Karla Spaeth-Yost.

The Northwood University Stafford Dinner annually honors Mr. William D. Stafford, the founding chairman of Northwood University’s Hotel, Restaurant & Resort Management Department. From 1969 to 1972, Stafford shaped the program’s curriculum by integrating his extensive hospitality industry expertise into the coursework. His legacy continues over 50 years later with this event, raising money to provide the next generation of Northwood students with opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach through the Stafford Dinner Memorial Scholarship.

“The February dinner promises to be an unforgettable evening where guests can experience a blast from the past through our night of dining and doing the hustle,” explained Co-advisor Laura Rhodes.

“This year’s theme is all about bringing the Northwood community together on the dance floor,” added General Chair Joseph Eisenman of Midland, Michigan. “Dine & Do the Hustle will be a night of great food, great music, and a great cause, with every dollar supporting the Stafford Dinner Memorial Scholarship.”

Tickets will officially go on sale on Dec. 1 for the 52nd Stafford Dinner, which will be held Feb. 27, 2027, at the Great Hall Banquet & Convention Center, 5121 Bay City Road.
