Six Northwood University students placed among the top 10 in their events at the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, including two who earned first-place national awards.

Corbin Landrey of League City, Texas, placed first in Project Management Concepts, and Nolan Longuski of Shepherd, Michigan, placed first in Advanced Word Processing. Northwood students also earned three second- or third-place awards and several finalist honors across business, finance, technology, entrepreneurship and administrative competitions.

“Northwood students once again demonstrated that they can compete — and succeed — on a national stage,” said BPA co-advisor Jennifer Freeland. “Their results in Nashville reflect their preparation, professionalism and ability to apply what they are learning in meaningful, competitive environments. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and excited to keep building on the momentum this chapter has created.”

Northwood’s national finalists and award recipients included:

• Corbin Landrey of League City, Texas, placed first in Project Management Concepts and second in Advanced College Accounting. He also was a finalist in Financial Analysis Team, Financial Math and Analysis Concepts, and Administrative Support Concepts. In addition, he earned the BPA Merit Scholar Award, a special recognition presented by Business Professionals of America to members and advisors who demonstrate knowledge of BPA’s history, traditions, programs and activities.

• Nolan Longuski of Shepherd, Michigan, placed first in Advanced Word Processing and third in Digital Media Production.
