Opening Convocation

About Opening Convocation

Opening Convocation is a formal ceremony that marks the official beginning of the academic journey. It serves as the academic “welcome” to our new students and sets the tone for their college experience. The event features formal speeches from university leadership addressing our mission, values, and expectations for students.

Opening Convocation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in the Hach Student Life Center. Doors open at 9:00 a.m.

Dress code is business casual. Please wear either slacks or business dress pants, khakis, chinos, knee-length skirts, dark jeans without holes. Button-down shirts, sweaters, blouses, henleys or polo shirts. Knee-length or maxi dresses.
