Public invited to see The Family Tradition Band

August 7, 2023

Northwood University invites the community to its campus on Aug. 29 for the summer’s final 2023 Freedom Fest concert at the John and Marjorie Hohman Amphitheater in Midland.

Taking the stage for the evening will be The Family Tradition Band, which is a modern take on an old timeless classic sound (and includes many traditional country elements such as fiddle, banjo and pedal steel guitar).

“This combined with spot-on vocal harmonies, dual electric guitars and a rock solid rhythm section, is what creates the authenticity of the band,” states the band’s website, www.thefamilytraditionband.com. “They are led by the power duo up front featuring Mid-Michigan’s own Randy Badour on lead vocals/acoustic guitar and Kyle Andrew of Metro Detroit on lead guitar and vocals. These guys continue to prove why they’re one of the top recognized regional country acts!”

Family Tradition has been named “Best Band” in Detroit by Hour Detroit Magazine (2021) as well as “Best Country Band” by Review Magazine in Mid-Michigan three years in a row (2021, 2022, 2023).

In addition to an evening of great music, the concert will feature games for the whole family, food trucks, and non-alcoholic beverages. Those planning to come out should encourage friends and family to join and bring their lawn chairs and coolers.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the John and Marjorie Hohman Amphitheater on Northwood University’s campus in Midland. For more information, visit www.northwood.edu.
