Omniquest Selection Fall 2014

August 24, 2014

In our fall Omniquest selection On the Edge, Alison Levine reminds us we live and work in a world filled with VUCA environments—Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity. “Sound military practice,” writes Levine, “is based on the idea that a VUCA environment will sometimes require improvisation well outside the rules.” In other words, lead or get out of the way. As we grow Northwood University, we do so in a world filled with change, one in which a growing number of learners are demanding ever-greater options and flexibility in fulfilling their educational goals. Whether we are launching new degree programs, refining existing ones, or enhancing processes which serve our students from recruitment through graduation and services to our alumni, it’s important we remain focused on our end goals—even when that means working outside the bounds of what others consider to be “normal.”
