2014 Northwood University International Auto Show Puts You Behind The Wheel

September 11, 2014
The annual Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS) is the largest outdoor new car auto show in North America. It features over 500 new domestic and imported cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, vans, experimental and specialty vehicles, plus various exciting automotive aftermarket products. The theme for this year’s Auto Show is “Take the Wheel.”NUIAS General Chair Kristin Hammond states, “This year’s show has a very clear focus. It is about the empowerment that the automobile provides. It is about the qualities and features that make each and every vehicle different. We want the show attendees to get behind the wheel and get a full and interactive experience. Showing what today’s cars can do for you is our aim.” With approximately 60,000 guests yearly, the NUIAS is an event for the entire family. This show is unique in many ways. It is entirely student run with over 600 Northwood University students participating. It takes place outdoors on Northwood’s scenic campus. It hosts vehicles from an array of manufacturers. There is an opportunity to speak to knowledgeable students without the pressure of a salesperson. This year’s show will have a renewed focus on the future. The enjoyment, technology, and convenience of the modern car are at the fore front. The Auto Show will be held the weekend of October 10-12 on the Michigan Campus of Northwood University located at 4000 Whiting Drive in Midland. Show hours are Friday, October 10, from 12 p.m. (noon)-6 p.m.; Saturday, October 11, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday, October 12, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Many exhibits will line the Mall Walk and offer a variety of food, information and entertainment. The event will also include a classic car show on Sunday, October 12. The Auto Show is free of charge, offers free parking and is open to the public.
