Northwood University International Auto Show Leaves Lasting Impression

October 16, 2014

Thanks to a long-established history and a variety of marketing strategies designed by members of the event’s student executive team, the recent student-run Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS) attracted over 60,000 visitors from across the globe.

With the “Take the Wheel” themed event putting a renewed focus on the connection between the consumer and the vehicle, guests enjoyed over 65 manufacturers and 500 vehicles on display along with many informative exhibits and a variety of food and entertainment.

“The NUIAS is a significant teaching opportunity for the faculty in the automotive program, along with a tremendous experiential leadership project for the students involved with the show. Teams get real-world exhibit experience, learn to engage community stakeholders, and expose themselves to industry leaders from a myriad of companies,” said Elgie Bright, Assistant Professor and Chair of the Northwood University Michigan Automotive Marketing Program. I’m proud of this year’s executive board members and the teams they assembled to once again put on the world’s largest, completely student run, outdoor auto show.”

Throughout its 50-year history, the Northwood University Michigan International Auto Show has grown in size and reputation. There have been exhibits from carmakers like Ford and Chevrolet, to luxury brands such as Rolls-Royce and Ferrari. The show has also attracted industry-leading speakers from across the board, from Carroll Shelby, the founder of Shelby America Inc. to Angus MacKenzie, Editor-in-chief of Motor Trend Magazine.
