NU Michigan Speech Team Competes at Bulldog Battle

Front (L-R): Cherell Granger, Alyssa Tefend, Chene Kushmaul, McKenzie TerwillegarThe Northwood University Competitive Speech Team competed last weekend at the Bulldog Battle, hosted by Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. They placed 11th out of 16 teams. Their season now stands at 47 wins and 28 losses.

The following team members made it to finals: Kirk Longuski, placing 3rd in After Dinner Speaking and Chene Kushmaul, placing 3rd in Novice Impromptu.

The team is extremely proud of first year competitor, Chene Kushmaul, for not only making it to finals but placing so high. Kirk Longuski, Captain and Senior, remarked, “This was the best breakout performance by a novice in Northwood’s team history.”

The Timberwolves will head out once again on February 7th and 8th to compete at the Tower Invitational, hosted by Eastern Michigan University.
