Northwood University Honors Aftermarket Industry Leaders

MIDLAND, Mich. – Northwood University will recognize eight prominent supporters of educational initiatives and learning within the automotive aftermarket industry with its prestigious Automotive Aftermarket Management Education Award on October 31, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Recipients will receive their honors during a ceremony at the Venetian Hotel, held during AAPEX 2017 in conjunction with the Automotive Aftermarket Professional/Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional graduation luncheon. The designations were developed in partnership with the Auto Care Association, AWDA, MEMA and Northwood University. “This award is Northwood University’s recognition of substantial dedication from these recipients over a number of years, to the educational process and the automotive aftermarket,” said Keith Pretty, Northwood University president and CEO. “Our honorees devote notable time and energy to education, making a worthwhile contribution within their industry, but also outside of it.” The Northwood University Automotive Aftermarket Management Education Award is given annually to industry leaders throughout the country who have made noteworthy contributions to education, on any level, inside or outside of the industry. Their names and notable activities have been recorded in the awards book that will be distributed throughout the automotive aftermarket industry. This year’s winners include:
  • Tina H. Alread, vice president, communications and marketing, HDA Truck Pride, Brighton, Michigan;
  • Matthew M. Buchholz, president and general manager, MotoRad of America, Mount Carmel, Illinois;
  • Curtis Draper, managing partner, Schwartz Advisors, Trophy Club, Texas;
  • Robert D. Joynt, director of training, Auto-Wares, Grand Rapids, Michigan;
  • Jeffrey E. Koviak, vice president, general manager, Tenneco North America Aftermarket, Monroe, Michigan;
  • Richard E. Schwartz, CEO and managing partner of Schwartz Advisors, La Jolla, California;
  • Kenneth H. Wendling, vice president, warehouse distribution sales, Standard Motor Products, Chesaning, Michigan; and
  • Ann Wilson, senior vice president, government affairs, Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association, Washington, District of Columbia.
