Northwood University Gallery Moves to Temporary Location; Awaits New Retail & Residential Development in Downtown Midland

March 5, 2014

The Northwood University Gallery has taken up temporary residence at a new location in downtown Midland. As it awaits completion of the new 83,730-square-foot retail and residential development planned for the corner of Main and Ashman streets the Northwood University Gallery is serving customers at 219 Main Street, between McDonald and Rodd. According to University officials, both the Gallery’s temporary and future homes mark a positive move for  the University and the Midland community as a whole.“Northwood University has always been a proud and active member of the community. As Midland has grown and developed so have we,” explained Mia Dvornic, director of the Northwood University Gallery. “One of our goals in the original space at the corner of Main and Ashman was to help beautify downtown Midland. We are doing that here at our temporary location and we look forward to doing so again in our new home once it is completed.”

According to Northwood University President and CEO Keith A. Pretty, the new mixed-use space is synonymous with the University’s mission.

“We believe business and the arts make great partners and this new development is a prime example. By combining retail, residential and event space, it will serve the many and varied needs of local businesses and citizens alike. We are excited about this. It’s good for Midland and it’s good for the Northwood University Gallery,” stated Pretty.

The Northwood University Gallery’s hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
