Northwood to Host Dr. Doina Harsanyi Lecture on Love in the Enlightenment

On Thursday, February 13, at 7 p.m., Northwood University’s Student History Club, together with the department of social sciences and humanities, will host its annual faculty lecture. Dr. Doina Harsanyi, professor of history at Central Michigan University, will speak on “Love in the Enlightenment” in Griswold Lecture Hall on Northwood University’s Midland campus located at 4000 Whiting Drive. Students, alumni, faculty, staff and members of the community are invited to attend this free event.Dr. Harsanyi’s research interests include topics in French revolutionary and Napoleonic history, French-American relations, the movement of ideas across the Atlantic during the Enlightenment and the modern era, and the history of the nobility throughout the revolutionary era. Her current research project explores different aspects of Italy under Napoleonic occupation. She earned her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Timisoara in Romania and her doctor of philosophy degree from the University of North Carolina.
