Northwood Professor Addresses Historic Book Club

Professor Robert O. Harris, Jr., chair of arts and science on the Texas campus of Northwood University, presented his program “My Friend Bill and His Friend Tom” to the Criterion Book Club of Dallas. The club hosts noted experts in literature at its monthly meetings.The program details Harris’s friendship and literary collaboration with his friend William Jay Smith, former U.S. Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry, and Smith’s friend, the great American playwright Tennessee Williams.

Professor Harris presents a variety of programs on great American writers to educational institutions and business and industry. His recurring theme is the importance of the arts and ways in which literature continues to enrich the human experience.
