Northwood Night at the Saginaw Spirit is Feb. 21

February 5, 2024

Northwood University invites the public to join us at Northwood Night at the Saginaw Spirit on Feb. 21 at the Dow Events Center in Saginaw.

“Northwood has a rich history of partnering with the Saginaw Spirit, and we couldn’t be more enthusiastic about seeing everyone watch the Saginaw Spirit take on the Flint Firebirds,” stated Murray Kyte, vice president of advancement for Northwood University.

Northwood Hockey representatives will be featured at the opening puck drop at 7:05 p.m. Feb. 21. Throughout the evening, Northwood will be handing out T-shirts and collecting entries for a drawing for a gift basket filled with Northwood gear.

Prior to the start of the game, attendees are invited to come meet Ken Daniels, who is known as “The Voice of the Red Wings,” at 5:45 p.m. in the Budweiser Red Room. Daniels will be featured in a presentation about opioid awareness and mental health. He will be joined by Lauren Bennett, a graduate student who will discuss the “I Hear You” program, which is a campus mental wellbeing initiative.

In addition to the Feb. 21 Saginaw Spirit game, Northwood is a proud sponsor of the Canadian Hockey League’s 2024 Memorial Cup, which is being presented by Dow at the Dow Event Center, May 24-June 2.

“It’s encouraging to see the positive momentum happening there, as well as at Northwood University, which is experiencing growth in both enrollment and fundraising,” Kyte noted.
