Northwood Michigan Hosts MISL Novice State Championship Tournament

Northwood University Michigan recently hosted over 40 competitors vying for awards, and more than 25 judges and coaches evaluating performance and encouraging presenters at the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Speech League (MISL) Novice State Championship Tournament. Run by Northwood University student and speech competitor Cherell Granger under the guidance of MISL Executive Director Carole Bennett, the tournament included 11 individual event competitions in three genres, including public address, limited preparation and interpretation.

Professor and Head Coach Andy Rapp founded the speech program at Northwood University in 1996 and under his guidance has led each team to a winning season.

Seven additional colleges competed at the event including Saginaw Valley State University, Michigan State University, University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, Hillsdale College, Oakland University and Oakland Community College.
