Northwood University is excited to announce the creation of the 6th Man Club, a new donor-supported initiative designed to provide meaningful and sustainable financial support for NU Men’s Basketball.

Fashioned after the successful Point After Club that supports Northwood Football, the 6th Man Club is designed to strengthen the Men’s Basketball program by narrowing the annual operating budget gap between Northwood and other competitive mid-size university programs nationwide. The initiative will help ensure student-athletes, coaches, and staff have the resources needed to maximize their potential on the court, in the classroom, and in their communities.

“The 6th Man Club represents an important investment in the future of Northwood University’s Men’s Basketball program,” said Athletic Development Officer Leonard Haynes. “This initiative allows our supporters to directly impact our student-athletes by strengthening scholarships, enhancing recruiting efforts, and supporting a program built on competitive excellence, character, and growth.”

The 6th Man Club will be chaired by Nick Davidson, a Northwood alumnus who will help lead the committee and engage alumni, friends, and fans passionate about the continued success of NU Men’s Basketball.

Head Men’s Basketball Coach Tom Church emphasized the importance of donor support in sustaining a nationally competitive program.

“Winning consistently requires teamwork, and the 6th Man Club gives our supporters a meaningful way to invest in our program,” Church said. “The support generated through this initiative directly impacts our ability to recruit top student-athletes, compete against elite programs across the country, and provide transformational experiences for our young men. We are incredibly grateful for the leadership behind the 6th Man Club and for the commitment of those who believe in Northwood Basketball.”

Funds raised through the 6th Man Club will support scholarships, recruiting, travel, and program enhancements, helping Northwood Men’s Basketball continue to compete at a high level while advancing the university’s mission of developing leaders of character.
