On Wednesday, April 30, at 6 p.m., a group of 15 Northwood University seniors will present the results of their web development projects. The students have been working with two nonprofit organizations, Little Forks Conservancy and Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association for nearly seven months to complete these two separate projects. This is the first time the graduating class of the Management Information Systems (MIS) major has completed two separate projects for two different local organizations in just two semesters. The presentation will help educate the community about the MIS major at Northwood and demonstrate the real-life skills students are using in the classroom to help benefit those outside the classroom and in the community. This event will take place in Griswold Lecture Hall on Northwood University’s Midland campus located at 4000 Whiting Drive. Students, alumni, faculty, staff and members of the community are invited to attend this free event.Both projects have been entirely student-led and developed and are providing the two organizations with a cost-effective solution to the old software systems the organizations were previously using. Michael Heim is the student project leader for Little Forks Conservancy with a team of Josh Allen, Dylan Davis, Guanyou Chen, Ryan Spicuzzi, Aaron Janer and Leonard Welch. Chad Dandron is the student project leader for Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association with a team of Isuru Aberatne, Krishan Laththuwa, Paul Zoratti, Nickolas Richmond, Jamin Banks and Tristan Dennings. Stephanie Hentschel is the student program manager for both projects.
