Northwood University is once again partnering with the City of Midland to host Walk Midland every Tuesday at noon throughout the summer, beginning June 3 and running through Aug. 5.
“Northwood is proud to support this community wellness initiative,” said Justin Marshall, chief development and engagement officer for Northwood University. “Our scenic, wooded campus provides a perfect backdrop for a refreshing midday walk, and we welcome participants of all ages to enjoy our Walk Midland route.”
Walk Midland is an initiative organized by the City of Midland to encourage residents to stay active by participating in two-mile walks at various locations across the community. Walks take place every day except Saturday, with each location offering a unique environment.
Each Tuesday at noon, walkers can choose between Northwood University’s outdoor, paved route (open to all ages) and an indoor walk at the Midland Area Community Center (open to individuals ages 9 and up).
Participants are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to complete a short registration form to be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate to a local business. Additionally, all registered walkers will be entered into a grand prize drawing at the end of the season.
“Northwood’s campus offers a beautiful and convenient setting for those looking to enjoy the outdoors during their lunch break, and this partnership provides for a fun and easy way to stay active while earning prizes along the way,” Marshall noted.
