DECA Day, an annual event that brings high school DECA chapters to campus, is the 2024 Fall Project 100 winner.
โDECA Day will receive a $10,000 grant to enhance the experience for high school students and expand opportunities for Northwood students to engage and participate in this dynamic on-campus event,โ explained Northwood Senior Alumni and Engagement Officer Julie Adamczyk.
Project 100 is a unique development initiative where 100 alumni, employees, and friends of Northwood come together each semester to evaluate proposals from campus groups. Each member donates $100, and the collective funds are awarded to one winning project.
โProject 100 embodies the spirit of collaboration and giving that defines Northwood University,โ Adamczyk noted. โDECA Dayโs selection demonstrates the dedication of our students to fostering meaningful connections and creating a vibrant campus experience for current and future Timberwolves.โ
DECA Day connects high school students with the Northwood community, offering leadership and competition experiences that reflect the universityโs commitment to free enterprise and innovation.
In addition to DECA Day, this semesterโs project pitches included:
- Rake-A-Difference โ A proposal to purchase leaf blowers to increase efficiency for Go M.A.D. (Make A Difference) Day.
- Lights, Camera, Action โ A proposal to purchase photo booth equipment to elevate Northwood University events.
The next Project 100 presentation will be held online on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Project 100 is always seeking new members to join its mission. Membership is just $50 per quarter, and meetings are conducted virtually twice a year. For more information or to become a member, visit our Project 100 page.
