Ms. Lake is an advocate for many causes that have profound impact in our world. As Senior Vice President for Public Affairs and Chief Sustainability Officer with AT&T, she is responsible for leading their philanthropic and volunteer endeavors, third-party advocacy program and public affairs functional support, as well as coordinating signature initiatives that connect social needs with business objectives. Through the partnership of Institute for Economic Empowerment for Women and Northwood University, Ms. Lake mentors women from Afghanistan and Rwanda. Her enthusiasm, wisdom, and tenacity exemplifies her passion for making a difference in their lives and communities. Ms. Lake works with diverse groups all over the United States to empower them to change the world a step at a time. She began her career with Southwestern Bell in Topeka, Kansas, which merged with AT&T. In 2007 she launched the centralized corporate citizenship and sustainability function. As a graduate of Kansas State University, she serves on the Advisory Council for KSU’s A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications. One of her five board positions is with America’s Promise Alliance, which is committed to preparing young people for college, work and life. Ms. Lake has received the Iron Jawed Angel award by The Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series in Washington, D.C. for her sustained leadership and excellence in public service.
