Merna Sallop Popper

Merna Popper began her career as an arts writer. She launched Women’s News, a newspaper to provide visibility for successful business and professional women. She was a founding member of the National Association of Women’s Regional Publications. She has produced, directed and hosted a live weekly call-in radio talk show, “The Women’s Line”. Her television show, “Women’s News Extra”, featured interviews of people working for the advancement of women. She has served on the Women’s Advisory Board to the Westchester County Executive, as commissioner for cable television, worked with small business entrepreneurs, the American Cancer Society and is a member of AWED. She has received the Women in Communications Award for Excellence, the Woman of the Year from Dominican College and an Award for Excellence from Governor Mario Cuomo of New York. She and her husband, John E. Popper, have two children.
