Dr. Julia M. Edwards

Julia Edwards was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She and her husband, Bill, have two daughters and four grandchildren. Before becoming involved in the real estate business, Mrs. Edwards devoted her efforts to a variety of volunteer services. She served as a Red Cross hospital aid, taught a Sunday School class and was a P.T.A. president during her early years in Saginaw, Michigan. While participating in various charitable and civic campaigns, she also satisfied her interest in the arts by serving as a member of the board of directors for the Saginaw Symphony Orchestra Association. She is a member of the National Women’s Board of Northwood University, the board of directors of Palm Beach Round Table and the Palm Beach Society of The Four Arts. She has been a great supporter of the Northwood University Orchestra. She serves as vice president of a family foundation and director of a family partnership. Professionally, she has been active in real estate. Mrs. Edwards says, “Northwood University is truly an outstanding institution of higher learning. Coupled with its strong academic program, with accent on our free enterprise economic system, is the importance of arts appreciation. I am particularly impressed with the wholesome moral climate that prevails there and I never fail to be impressed with the quality of the student body.” Mrs. Edwards esteem for Northwood is warmly reciprocated. In 1999, she received an honorary degree from the University at the Michigan commencement. (Deceased, 2009)
