Shirley M. Kleckner

Shirley Kleckner is well known for her longtime leading role in local charities and serves on several boards: the advisory board of College of the Desert (Life Member), executive board of directors Palm Springs Opera Guild, executive board of the Palm Springs Senior Center; and the Council for the Future of the National Judicial College, University of Nevada, Reno. She is a founder/president of the Palm Springs Youth Center Friars and past chair of the Palm Springs National Women’s Board. Born in Montreal, Canada, Shirley was educated in New England and won academic and sports honors in diving and skiing during her high school years in Rutland, Vermont. She is a member of the American Ski Association. She graduated as class president at Peter Bent Brigham Nursing School in Boston (affiliated with Harvard Medical School). She is the mother of four children and has three granddaughters. Shirley says, “My experience with Northwood has been truly rewarding. I am most impressed by the strong network of friends who support the school, encouraging success and growth in a free enterprise system.”
