Betty Brooke Blake

The former Elizabeth Muhlenberg Brooke was born in Philadelphia and has lived in Newport, New York City, London and Paris. She attended Westover School in Connecticut and Madame Chapon School in Paris. Upon moving to Dallas, she established the Betty McLean Gallery to offer contemporary works by European and American artists, the first such gallery in Texas. She also was influential in introducing Northwood in Dallas. Betty Blake is a former president and chairman of the board of the American Federation of Arts. Her activities include: former board member of the Dallas Theater Center and TACA, Inc., advisory council member of the College of Fine Arts, University of Texas, former board member of the Dallas Museum of Art, president and the board of the Dallas Museum of Contemporary Art and board member of the Newport Art Museum in Rhode Island. She has three children.
