Moxie Mulrooney

January 1, 1971

1971 – Saginaw, Michigan

Mrs. T.J. Mulrooney taught for four years in Saginaw County rural schools, the first two years before being graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw. She later attended Central Michigan University for two summer terms. A lifelong worker with youth, she was a former State Grange Youth chairman and was a volunteer local 4-H leader for twenty-seven years. For twenty-six years, she was assistant manager of the Saginaw Fair, the largest county fair east of the Rockies, and was past president of the Michigan Association of Fairs. Mrs. Mulrooney was also a member of the board of directors of the International Affiliation of Provincial and County Fairs Association. For many years, Mrs. Mulrooney was the Michigan representative for the Regalia Manufacturing Company and supplied county fair association all over the state. One of the very earliest supporters of Northwood, Moxie Mulrooney was an inspiration and steady voice of encouragement to Northwood University co-founder Arthur E. Turner, encouragement he and co-founder and friend R. Gary Stauffer never forgot. Mr. and Mrs. Mulrooney were the parents of three daughters. (Deceased 1974)
