Henrietta L. (Stearns) McInally

Henrietta McInally committed herself to worthwhile civic and humanitarian causes and became one of the most sought-after women whenever there was a challenge to be met. Mrs. McInally has held presidencies and chairmanships of many organizations in Saginaw, Michigan, including the YWCA board of directors, the Presbyterian Church Women’s Board and First Circle, King’s Daughters. Henrietta was vice president of Northwood’s Michigan Women’s Board, co-chairman of the first Saginaw FAD, co-chairman for admissions, Saginaw Home for the Aged, sewing chairman and president, the Assistance League, president of People to People chapter and co-chairman of raising funds for the Japanese Cultural Center and Tea House in Saginaw. She has been a key member of the Saginaw Community Chest, P.E.O. chapter A.H., Republican Club, Saginaw General Hospital Auxiliary and The Saginaw Club. Her late husband, R. Dewey Stearns, a long-time member of the Northwood Board of Trustees, took active roles in the molding of Northwood’s basic character. A scholarship bears his name. Henrietta was married to Detroit attorney Leroy B. McInally in March, 1988 and is now a supportive member of the Detroit chapter of Northwood’s National Women’s Board and a member of the Colony Town Club. (Deceased 2004)
