Dr. Mary Jane Bostick

Mary Jane Bostick, a native of Detroit, is professor emeritus of Wayne State University’s College of Liberal Arts, Department of Nutrition and Food Science, where she developed the Consumer Affairs program. She was the District Consumer Consultant for the Food and Drug Administration and received its Commendation for Outstanding Consumers Programs. She has served as an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Michigan. Mrs. Bostick is a former National Chairman of Northwood’s National Women’s Board, and she served as a trustee of Bloomfield University School and of Northwood University, where she represented the Women’s Board and served on the Academic Committee. She is a member of the Wayne State Fund, an Understudy for the Hillberry Theatre of Wayne State and a member of the Cranbrook Museum’s Women’s Committee. She also has served Northwood as liaison to the president for international studies programs. In May 1988, Northwood University conferred the honorary Doctor of Humanities degree on Mrs. Bostick during the commencement ceremonies on the Michigan campus. Mrs. Bostick is married to arts administrator and artist William C. Bostick, the former secretary of the Detroit Institute of Arts. The Bosticks are enthusiastic and inveterate travelers. They have a daughter and a son.
