Jean Stark

Jean Stark graduated from the University of Minnesota and was a member of Delta Phi Lambda, honorary writing society. She pursued postgraduate study at the St. Louis Institute of Music and attended music seminars in Mexico, Rome and Siena. She was married to the late Arnold Stark. They had two children. A versatile, multi-talented individual, Jean Stark began her career on the editorial staff of the Sault Ste. Marie Evening News. Later, she was associated with the Midland Daily News and The Dow Chemical Company. A talented, inspiring musician and pianist, Mrs. Stark was an independent music teacher who instructed several generations of Midland students. She held membership in the Midland Music Teachers Association, the Michigan Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association, where she served on the executive board. In 1966, she was honored by being selected the Michigan Music Teacher of the Year. (Deceased 1986)
