Margaret (Magee) Hurt

Mrs. Harry Alderhoff Hurt was born in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence R. Bitting, Jr. After attending private schools in New York City and Palm Beach, Mrs. Hurt graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Connecticut. She also attended Finch Junior College, Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart and the University of Houston. Active and totally involved in her community, Magee Hurt contributed unselfishly of her time and considerable talents to many civic, humanitarian and cultural activities. Among them: the Junior League of Houston, the River Oaks Garden Club, past board member of the Camp Fire Girls, den mother for the Boy Scouts of America, ticket chairman of the Junior League Ball, the advisory board of the Museum of Fine Arts, chairman of the first Bob Hope benefit for St. Joseph Hospital, board member, St. Joseph Hospital and the Women’s Public Relations Council and past co-chairman of the Houston chapter of Northwood’s National Women’s Board.
