Jane Fortune

Jane Hennessy Fortune is the wife of William L. Fortune, former national board member of Northwood. She was born in San Francisco and is a journalism graduate of Northwestern University. Jane Fortune has been involved in the civic and cultural life in Indianapolis, including memberships in Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, Alliance of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Women’s Group of the Indianapolis Symphony, Garden Club of America and the Dramatic Club. She has held board memberships in the Indianapolis Junior League, Christamore Aid Society, Indianapolis chapter of Northwood Library League, Indianapolis Northwood Women’s Board and the Indianapolis Garden Club. Mrs. Fortune is currently active in the Nature Conservancy and Hoosier Environmental Council. She was one of the founders of Camp Delafield, a summer camp for dyslexic children. Mr. and Mrs. Fortune have four children, one of whom, Richard H. Fortune, is an alumnus of Northwood. They also have eight grandchildren. Mrs. Fortune recently expressed her enthusiasm and pride in Northwood’s progress and growth, especially the accreditation to university level and development of various areas for new campuses.
