Eleanor Jane Bricker

January 1, 1975

1975 – Birmingham & Bloomfield Village, Michigan

A native of Detroit, Eleanor Bricker is the daughter of Jessie Burton Stewart and Elmer William Gerhard. She and her late husband, Charles Landis Bricker, divided their time for many years between Michigan and Florida. They are the parents of four children, Nancy B. Eaton, Mary Ann Harrison, Sally Lynn Schott and Charles, Jr. Her daughters are all graduates of Bloomfield Country Day School for Girls, a Northwood affiliate, and her son attended Northwood University. Eleanor Bricker served on the TB and Health Society board of directors and has been active in the Detroit chapter of the Red Cross, the United Foundation, Project Hope and Questers. Active memberships in the Detroit Historical Society, Michigan Historical Society, Greenfield Village and Ford Museum and Archives of American Art are tangible evidence of her interest in the area’s historic preservation. Mrs. Bricker says, “Northwood is successfully producing a better student, an aware kind of student who can work confidently and aggressively to achieve the best for self, family and society. As concerned parents or anyone who is concerned with today’s students, today’s education and tomorrow’s future, we should all do our share to contribute to this cause. It is one that will benefit us all.” (Deceased 2000)
