Sirpuhe Philibosian Conte

Sirpuhe Philibosian Conte has lived most of her life in the Los Angeles area where the Philibosian family has been well known for its generosity in many fields. Mrs. Conte has traveled often to Beirut, Lebanon to oversee the work of the Philibosian Foundation, which has aided unfortunate Armenians who fled there after World War I. The Foundation has established elementary schools, a junior college, orphanages and housing for the poor and blind. She has received a medal from the Lebanese government in recognition and appreciation for her achievements there. Sirpuhe Conte is one of the founders of the Music Center in Los Angeles and has been active with ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) of which she was also a charter member. She is a trustee of the McCallum Theater, Bob Hope Cultural Center, trustee, Barbara Sinatra Center for Abused Children, trustee and an associate, Pepperdine University. She is active with colleges and universities and was president of Kappa Alpha Theta Mothers while her daughters were attending the University of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Conte is the wife of television personality John Conte. She is co-founder and co-owner of station KMIR-TV in Palm Springs, California. (Deceased, 2008)
