Marguerite Perkins Shooshan

1979 – Pasadena, California Marguerite Perkins was born in Springfield, Illinois. In 1922 she moved to California where she married Emanuel David Shooshan in 1924. Mrs. Shooshan was a president of Los Angeles Panhellenic, a founder of Pasadena Area Panhellenic and a member of its board for several years. She was a member of the executive board of the Shakespeare Club of Pasadena and represented this organization on the Women’s Auxiliary of the Huntington Memorial Hospital. She organized and sponsored the Junior Auxiliary of Huntington Memorial and headed numerous benefits for the children’s ward. During World War II, she worked as a volunteer with Pasadena Hospitality House, providing home cooked meals for servicemen. She was one of the founders of both the San Marino Women’s Club and the San Marino Republican Club and served on both boards for many years. A member of Pro-America, she served on the local and state boards and was chairman of three national Pro-America conventions. She was also a member of the D.A.R. “I agree wholeheartedly with the philosophy of Northwood. The concept of training young people specifically in the meaning and appreciation of free enterprise and self reliance is of utmost urgency in our country today,” said Mrs. Shooshan. (Deceased 1992)
