University of the Aftermarket Unveils 2026 Courses for Automotive Professionals

The 2026 University of the Aftermarket course lineup is a comprehensive portfolio of online and in-person programming designed to equip professionals with the leadership, strategic, and operational skills needed to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving aftermarket industry.

Developed in collaboration with Northwood University faculty and leading aftermarket executives, the course lineup features opportunities for all professionals at all career stages — from those new to the industry to experienced leaders seeking to sharpen strategy and drive organizational performance.

“Our mission is to advance the automotive aftermarket by equipping professionals with the skills, connections, and real-world experience they need to lead in a dynamic environment,” said James O’Dell, director of corporate education for the University of the Aftermarket. “As a leader in professional education for the automotive and aftermarket industry, Northwood University is uniquely positioned at the intersection of academia and real-world industry needs. The University of the Aftermarket courses are immersive experiences designed to step leaders out of daily operations and more into strategic thinking.”

Participants enrolled in any of the following courses will engage in applied learning experiences that go beyond theory, including real-world projects, peer collaboration, and direct interaction with industry leaders. The result is practical, immediately applicable knowledge that helps professionals strengthen their organizations and advance their careers.

The following courses will be held in person at various locations in Michigan, starting later this spring:

  • Aftermarket 101 (May 18-19 in Southfield) A foundational overview of the aftermarket ecosystem for those new to the industry or seeking deeper insight.
  • HD Aftermarket 101 (May 20–21 in Southfield) — An introduction to the heavy-duty segment, covering market structure, opportunities, and key players.
  • Aftermarket Data Standards (June 16–17 in Farmington Hills) — Gain working knowledge of ACES and PIES standards and their impact on product data management.
  • HD Leadership 2.0 (July 19–23 in Metro Detroit) — An intensive program for heavy-duty leaders focused on leadership, communication, and real-world problem solving.
  • Leadership 2.0 (Aug. 9–12 and March 2027 in Midland) — Two immersive sessions exploring real-world case studies, competitive advantage, and leadership execution.
  • Infusion 2026 (Sept. 20–24 in Metro Detroit) — An executive development experience focused on strategy, competitive positioning, and business performance, including an international session in 2027.
