Northwood University is once again returning to the global esports stage — this time with four Timberwolves qualifying for the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) World Finals, the culminating event of the 2025 season set for Nov. 26–Dec. 1 in Stockholm, Sweden.

Representing Northwood at the global event are Joseph “Lep” Cambriani, Christopher “Cjay” Smith, Rocco “Kronik” Iacobacci, and Diego “Vega” Moran. Cambriani, Smith, and Iacobacci qualified by placing second in North America with Space Station Gaming, while Moran — who recently returned to Northwood to complete his degree — earned his place by helping Team Liquid win the final North American stage of the OWCS.

The OWCS World Finals feature 12 elite teams from across the globe: three from North America, three from South Korea, three from the Europe–Middle East–Africa region, two from China, and one from Japan.

Adding to Northwood’s worldwide presence, program alumnus Landon “Landon” McGee will compete with the Saudi Arabian organization Al Qadsiah, marking another milestone for a program that consistently develops professional-level talent.

“This is an incredible achievement that speaks to the sustained excellence and development we prioritize at Northwood,” said Northwood Esports Coach Jacob R. Jacob. “Our players not only compete among the best in the world but do so while pursuing their degrees — a true reflection of the discipline and balance we emphasize.”

“To have four current students and an alum on the world’s biggest stage for Overwatch is a testament to their commitment and to the culture of growth we’ve built here at Northwood,” added Assistant Coach Aden Frosch.

The Overwatch Champions Series World Finals conclude the 2025 Overwatch competitive season, showcasing the top 12 teams for an international title and global recognition.

Closer to home, Northwood Esports begins its playoff season the week of Nov. 17, as its Overwatch, Valorant, and Rocket League teams vie to qualify for the PlayVS College League KAB Grand Finals in Akron, Ohio.
