Northwood University Sport Management students invite the community to slide into a new experience at Timby’s Learn to Curl, a fun and charitable event taking place from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Greater Midland Curling Center.

Organized by students in Northwood’s Sport and Production Management class, this engaging event offers participants the chance to learn one of winter’s most unique sports while supporting student learning opportunities. The session will include an hour of guided instruction followed by an hour of gameplay, making it perfect for those curious to try curling.

“Timby’s Learn to Curl is another great example of our students applying classroom concepts in a real-world setting,” said Professor Dave Marsh, who chairs Northwood’s Sport Management degree program. “They’re gaining valuable experience in event planning, marketing, and community outreach — all while creating something fun and meaningful for the community.”

Registration is $20 per person, or $15 for Northwood students, and includes a Learn to Curl T-shirt, post-event hospitality, and a chance to win prizes donated by local Midland businesses. Proceeds will benefit the Northwood University Sport and Production Management Association, helping fund future experiential learning projects.

Space is limited, and participants are encouraged to register early to secure their preferred T-shirt size. Tickets can be purchased online.
