Nation’s Largest Outdoor, Student-Run New Car Show to Feature Expanded Entertainment Offerings!

With the countdown on, students are putting the finishing touches on the 62nd Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS), set for Sept. 19-21. The nation’s largest outdoor, student-run auto show promises to be bigger, bolder, and more engaging.

“This year’s theme, Elevate, reflects both the scale and ambition of the show, which will feature a larger variety of vehicles, including new brands like Aston Martin, Hennessey, Harley-Davidson, and INEOS,” explained NUIAS General Chair Katrina Ness of Birmingham, Michigan. “We are seeing a surge in participation from the automotive aftermarket sector, with more than 74 brands and aftermarket companies that will be at this year’s show.”

“In addition to more exotic vehicles, we also will have new racing displays, performances by live bands, and expanded kid-friendly activities in our new Pit Stop Kid Zone,” added NUIAS Aftermarket Chair Eddie MacNellis of Midland, Michigan. “It takes hundreds of students to put on the Northwood University International Auto Show, and we are all committed to making this year’s show one that’s elevated for both car enthusiasts and for families who are looking for a unique outing that won’t break the bank.”

Each fall, Northwood University students present the Northwood University International Auto Show as a complimentary offering to the community. The following are highlights of this year’s show:

“The NUIAS is more than just a car show — it’s a proving ground for Northwood students, who take the lead on planning, logistics, sponsorships, and execution,” said Dr. David Oventhal, the Subaru of New England Professor of Automotive Strategy at Northwood University. “Their work connects directly to careers in the automotive and aftermarket industries, making the event a hands-on leadership laboratory unlike any other in the nation.”

“With over 300 vehicles and 74-plus aftermarket brands, the 62nd NUIAS is a celebration of both automotive passion and community engagement,” added Dr. Matthew Bennett, Vice President of Enrollment, Strategic Partnerships, and the Center for Automotive & Mobility Studies at Northwood University. “Our students have once again raised the bar, creating a show that’s perfect for all ages and truly reflects the passion, creativity, and expertise of the next generation of free-enterprise leaders.”

There is no cost to attend the show, which runs from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21. General parking will be available at Northwood Drive and North Saginaw Road near Dow High School.
