By depositing money onto your Northwood ID Card, you can make purchases at the Campus Bookstore or several of our dining locations.
Balance will be transferred from semester to semester and from year to year. A full refund on remaining funds is available upon graduation or formal withdrawal from the University.

Any traditional student registered for 6 or more credits per semester is charged. These fees include, but are not limited to:
- Student life activities

- Unlimited computer lab use with printing services
- Wi-Fi internet access and cable TV

All traditional full-time registered students are charged for health insurance. Students may either enroll in the plan or provide proof of comparable insurance coverage to have the insurance waived. Insurance waivers must be submitted by going to www.wellfleetstudent.com. If approved, it may take up to 14 business days before the charge is reversed from student account.
If it is not needed, it is the student’s responsibility to opt out of this insurance plan.
Inclusive Access is a program to provide integration of digital textbooks and homework platforms directly into courses through the learning management system (Blackboard) at a reduced cost to students – with no access code (in most cases) or separate textbook purchase required. Please view Inclusive Access FAQs by logging into My.Northwood.edu, accessing Self-Service, Student Finance, Account Activity and click the link in the Alert box at the top to the screen.

Payments can be made by logging into your My.Northwood.edu account, access Self-Service, Student Finance and then Make A Payment. A 2.5% non-refundable service fee will be assessed with any credit or debit card payment.
Yes, you can sign up online at www.northwood.edu/payopt. This will require your Northwood student credentials to sign in and submit the payment plan agreement form.
You must contact the Financial Aid Office as soon as possible. The organization granting the scholarship should send all checks and correspondence to Northwood University, Finance & Accounting Services, 4000 Whiting Drive, Midland, MI 48640.
No. You will need to complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit it to the Federal Government as soon as possible. The application is available through your high school guidance office, or the Northwood Financial Aid Office, or if you prefer, you can apply on-line at www.fafsa.gov.
No. Work-study funds must be earned from working during the semester and a paycheck will be issued. You may sign up for direct deposit by logging into My.Northwood.edu account, access Self-Service and then Bank Information. You will need to add and activate your bank information for payroll. You may voluntarily apply your check to your student account.
Yes, the bookstore will have student information on file regarding credits available from financial aid to purchase books and/or supplies if you need additional materials not included with the course material fees/inclusive book access.
Refunds are processed within 14 days of your aid posting. You must notify the Finance & Accounting Services Office at the start of every semester if you would like a refund. You can fill out a credit balance form which will automatically refund your credit every semester or you may opt to keep your credit balance on your account for future charges.
Yes, we strongly encourage direct deposit; checks that are not directly deposited into your bank account will be mailed to you. To sign up for direct deposit, you will need to log into your My.Northwood.edu account, access Self-Service and then Bank Information. You will need to add and activate your bank information for refunds/reimbursements.
Finance & Accounting Services will be able to print a new card. There is a $40 fee for a replacement card and a $25 fee for a broken ID. Broken ID cards must be turned in.
