“We’re excited to bring faster speeds to universities throughout the state,” said Jim Murray, president, AT&T Michigan. “We know our customers are living their lives on the go. We want to help them get the most out of their mobile devices—whether they’re watching videos, texting family and friends, or posting to social media.”AT&T constantly invests in its network to give customers the high-quality services they need to stay connected. AT&T is adding the latest in-network technology, such as small cells, to ensure customers have wireless service where they need it most. The company is also using distributed antenna systems, which can improve service in crowded areas and large structures, like a sports stadium. AT&T invested more than $1.7 billion from 2012 through 2014 to improve the network statewide. Over the last six years (2009-2014), AT&T invested nearly $140 billion, including investments in its wireless and wireline networks and acquisitions of wireless spectrum and operations. Since 2009, AT&T has invested more in the United States than any other public company. In a September 2014 report, the Progressive Policy Institute ranked AT&T No. 1 on its list of U.S. “Investment Heroes.” *AT&T products and services are provided or offered by subsidiaries and affiliates of AT&T Inc. under the AT&T brand and not by AT&T Inc. **4G speeds are not available everywhere.
