Advanced Leadership Program


The Advanced Leadership Program is designed to help you better understand your own leadership style and how to best develop it in others. This two-course program — offered completely online — allows you to actively apply what you learn from Day 1.

Coursework will teach you how to manage, motivate and lead others more effectively to get optimum team member performance at your dealership.  After completion of the GM Professional Development courses, all courses can be applied toward college credit at Northwood University after completing Northwood University’s prior learning assessment (PLA).

 

 

Leadership I: Process and Practice
The first course emphasizes leadership the nature of it, how to recognize and develop leadership skills and competency, and leadership ethics, to name a few. Upon completion, you will better understand and be able to improve your own leadership performance.

Leadership II: Strategies for Excellence
The second course focuses on leadership strategies. Through strategic planning, visioning and analysis of real-world improvement opportunities, you will reflect on your own professional practice, as well as those of your peers.

Throughout the two sessions, you will discuss the following topics:

  • Being a leader
  • Recognizing your own leadership traits
  • Philosophy and style of leadership
  • Attending to tasks and relationships
  • Developing and honing leadership skills
  • Visioning and setting the tone
  • Listening and out-group members

The Advanced Leadership Program is competitively priced at $950 per course, for a total program cost of $1,900. This includes all course materials and tuition. (Based on the 2016-17 academic year.)
