David P. Bellos

David Bellos is CEO of Teron Lighting, Inc., a planet-friendly green solution for the commercial lighting industry. 

He graduated from NU-MI in 1975 with a BBA in management.  While here he participated in Phi Sigma Beta and the Student Judicial Board.

He is an Outstanding Alumni Awardee and a past member of the Board of Governors Michigan.

Nicholas Busscher

Nicholas "Nick" Busscher is the founder and CEO of Experience Marketing which does event planning and displays, primarily for auto and trade shows.

Nick attended NU studying Marketing/Management.  He became president of the American Advertising Federation while graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2009.  He studied business in Asia and world cultures in Europe.

He was awarded the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2012.

As an alumnus he has become a strong supporter of experiential learning experiences, is a member of NU's Michigan Alumni Leadership Board, worked with the 2002 Olympic games and donates regularly for scholarships.

He lives in Atlanta, Georgia.


Joe A. Cauley

Joe Cauley is sales manager at Cauley Ferrari of West Bloomfield, Michigan.  He is also general manager of Cauley Performance Automotive.

Cauley graduated from NU-MI in 2009 with a BBA in management/automotive marketing.  While here he participated in Phi Delta Theta, International Fraternity Council, and served on the Auto Show Executive Board.

Michael R. Decker

Michael Decker is in his fifth year as Superintendent at St. Charles Community Schools.  He has also served as an administrator in Midland Public Schools, Saginaw Township Schools, and Bullock Creek Schools.  Before moving to public education, he was part of the administrative team at Northwood University, along with adjunct instructor and coach.  He began his career as a branch manager at Citizens National Bank, Cheboygan, MI.

Michael is a 1985 graduate of Northwood University and graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration, dual major in Marketing/Management.  He also has his Master of Arts degree from Central Michigan University in Educational Administration.   He currently serves on the Saginaw County Business and Education Partnership, Hartley Nature Center Board, St. Charles Community Foundation Board, Great Lakes Bay Early College Superintendent Advisory Board and the Regional Prosperity Committee.

Michael currently lives in St. Charles, MI. 


David J. Gardiner

David Gardiner is a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, Bank of America Corporation.

He graduated from NU-MI in 2009 with a BBA in Management/Banking & Finance and Economics.  While here he participated in Campus Crusade, Phi Delta Theta, Finance Association, and Student Government.

He previously worked at AXA Advisors and Wolverine Bank.


Victor L. George

Victor George is an automobile dealer working at Al Serra Automotive.

George graduated from NU-MI in 1982 with a BBA in management. He was honored with the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2008 and the Automobile Dealers Education Award in 2001.  He is also a member of the Alumni Leadership Council.

Previously, George was the owner of Victor George Oldsmobile, Victor George Chrysler-Jeep, and Victor George Chevrolet.

George served as president of the Michigan Automobile Dealers Association in the late 90’s.

James M. Hohman

James Hohman is Director of Fiscal Policy at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy.

Hohman graduated from NU-MI in 2006 with a BBA in management/economics.

He has been widely published throughout Michigan and national media.

Patrick M. Leavy

Patrick "Pat" Leavy is owner/realtor of Kidd & Leavy Real Estate Co in Petoskey.

Pat graduated from NU-MI in 1989 with an AA in hospitality.  While here he played soccer and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. 

He started his company in 2003 with partner Walter Kidd.


Douglas M. Lemcke

Doug Lemcke is general manager at Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth’s Splash Village Hotel and Waterpark, a position he has held since 2009.

Lemcke graduated from NU-Saginaw Outreach in 2012 with a BBA in management.  He also completed undergraduate work at Delta College.

Ann M. Macdonald

Ann Macdonald is the store manager for Destination XL Group, Inc. of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Macdonald graduated from NU-MI in 1990 with a BBA in marketing/management.  While here she participated in Alpha Chi Omega.

Previously, Macdonald held store manager positions with Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, Coldwater Creek, and Kuppenheimer Men’s Clothiers.  She has also worked at Casual Corner, Hudson’s and American Eagle Outfitters.

Sandra L. Morrison

Sandra Morrison is retired from Oakland Family Services where she served as the Vice President of Development.

Sandra attended NU - Michigan campus in 1965.  She served on the Michigan Board of Governors for many years.

Sandra lives in Bloomfield Hills. 

Richard S. Portwood

Rick Portwood is president of The Display Group Ltd., a company which makes event props, rental office furniture and other products.

Portwood graduated from NU-MI in 1990 with a BBA in management.  While here he participated in Sigma Phi Epsilon, Student Senate, Term in Europe, Sophomore Class Officers, and was Homecoming Court candidate.  In 2007 he was honored with an Outstanding Alumni Award.

Elyse M. Rogers

Elyse M Rogers is president and CEO of MAC International Ltd, her freelance writing company based in Midland.  She is the author of more than 1000 articles and stories published in the U. S. and Japan--publications include Highlights for Children, True Story, Family Health and many others.  In addition, she wrote corporate materials for The Dow Chemical Company, served as Assistant Vice President of The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, and as Interim President of the Midland Area Community Foundation.

The Rogers lived and raised their three daughters in Midland before moving to Tokyo, while Ed was president of Dow Chemical Japan.  During their eight years in Japan, Elyse wrote three weekly newspaper that appeared in The Japan Times, The Tokyo Weekender and The Daily Yomiuri.     

Community service is very important to Elyse and her family.  She and her husband established the Rogers Family Foundation in order to provide ongoing financial support for area non-profits.  She currently serves as president, her husband and daughters are directors, and the grandchildren are associate-directors. In May 2017 the couple was honored by Creative360 for their commitment to Midland and years of community service.

Elyse has served and/or chaired many boards, including the following: Northwood University Town and Campus(Chair); Midland Symphony Orchestra (Chair); Midland Visiting Nurses Association; (Chair), Midland Area Chamber of Commerce (Chair); Midland County Board of Health (Chair); Saginaw Valley State University’s Board of Fellows; Little Fork’s Conservancy; MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland; and Michigan Nonprofit Association. 

Elyse is a Registered Nurse with a B.S Degree in Nursing Education from Indiana University and an M.A. Degree from Purdue University.  She’s earned many honors including Woman of Distinction Award--Mitten Bay Girls Scout Council, Fellow of the American Medical Writers’ Association, and the Athena Foundation’s Athena Award for outstanding professional achievement.

Rogers currently serves on Northwood President’s Advisory Council and is a past member of the university’s Board of Governors. In 2016, she established the Elyse Rogers Endowed Scholarship in Entrepreneurship at Northwood.  In 2017 she was honored by Northwood as a Distinguished Woman.

Elyse M. Rogers is a professional writer with more than 1000 articles and columns published in the U.S., and Japan.  She has advanced degrees from Indiana University and Purdue University.  She and her husband established the Rogers Family Foundation to support community nonprofits as well as promote family philanthropy.


Michael S. Rogers

Michael Rogers earned his Managerial MBA from DeVos in 2012.  He also earned his BBA at NU-MI in 2009.  While on campus he played football.

Rogers has held positions at Chemical Bank and MidMichigan Health as a business educator and talent management specialist.

He has been active in local charities, including Rotary International, Midland Area Community Foundation, Family and Children’s Services, Hidden Harvest and United Way of Midland County.

Antonino M. Ruggirello

Nino Ruggirello is director of marketing and advertising at AJR Development.  He is part of the third generation of the family-owned business.

Ruggirello graduated from NU-MI in 2013 with a BBA in management.  While here he was a founding father of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity.

AJR Development owns and operates six manufactured housing communities and is headquartered in Novi, Michigan.


Gary L. Short

Gary Short is owner and co-founder of Go-To Transport, a transportation and logistics company headquartered in Bay City, Michigan.

He and his sister, Allison, started Go-To Transport in 2003 and together they have opened offices throughout the Midwest.

Short received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Marketing and Management from Northwood University in 1989.


Justine T. Stauffer

Justine Stauffer is a marketing manager in commercializing new product innovation for MillerCoors Brewing Company.

Stauffer graduated from NU-MI in 2006 with a BBA in ESPM.  While here she participated in Auto Show, Women’s Track, Women’s Cross Country and Style Show.  In 2016 she was honored as an Outstanding Alumni and she is a past member of the Michigan Board of Governors.

Upon graduation from Northwood, Justine Stauffer joined MillerCoors and has enjoyed a ten-year career (six on the sales side and four in marketing), earning several promotions with increasing responsibility for growing the brands under the MillerCoors family of products.

This dynamic and broad experience has helped her become a Cross-Functional Commercial Expert, and recently she completed the requirements necessary to become a Certified Cicerone®, the completion of which qualifies her to demonstrate her knowledge of beer keeping and service, beer styles, flavors, brewing process and ingredients, and beer and food pairing. She is the only marketer in the company with this certification.


Erin M. Stone

Erin Stone is in the Executive Director Initiative program for the PGA Tour where she is training for future leadership of one of their tournament stops.

She graduated from NU-MI in 2005 with a BBA in ESPM.  In 2015 she was honored with the Outstanding Alumni Award.  She has been a member of the Alumni Leadership Council and is a past member of the Michigan Board of Governors.

Prior to joining the PGA Tour, Stone was with USTA Memphis Open as Tournament Director.  She also spent five years with the Detroit Red Wings as Director of Private Event Sales and seven years as Tournament Director for the Dow Corning Tennis Classic, a USTA Pro Circuit event.

She also had the honor of becoming the first female professional to be named Tournament Director of the Memphis Open in its 40-year history and only the third ever in the Association of Tennis Professionals World Tour history.

She was married June 10, 2018, to Greg Stone, a Purdue graduate and mechanical engineer.  They currently reside in Memphis, Tennessee.


Jordan M. Summers

Jordan Summers, J.D., is AVP and a personal trust officer with Chemical Bank. 

He graduated from NU-MI in 2008 with a BBA in management and earned his MBA in 2009.  While here he participated in Football and served as an assistant coach.

He then graduated from Wayne Law in 2013 and is a licensed attorney.  He previously held law clerk positions with Gandelot & Associates and Hickey, Cianciolo, Fishman & Finn, P.C.


Griffin D. Williams

Griffin Williams is assistant project manager/estimator at Power Process Piping, Inc. (PPP).

Williams graduated from NU-MI in 2016 with a BBA in management.  While here he participated in Delta Epsilon Chi and American Advertising Federation and was aftermarket chairperson for the auto show.   In 2016 he received the Arthur E. Turner Award.

His parents, Graham and Jenny, are also NU alumni.

Williams did his internship working for Lingenfelter Performance Engineering for the 2014 SEMA show.


Richard E. Williams

Rich Williams is president of Williams & Company Financial Services of Grandville, Michigan.

He is the father of NU Alumnus, Joshua, a 2007 graduate who went on to earn his DeVos MBA in 2008. 

Daughter, Aliceson, who had earned her Bachelors from Grand Valley State University, earned an MBA through DeVos in 2011.

Rich founded his company in 1999 to serve the employees of the public school system in Michigan with their investment and retirement planning. The company includes the Grandville-based main office and six branch locations.
