The Campus Arts office is the center of Arts activity on the Northwood Texas Campus. Students are provided with the opportunities to understand and appreciate the importance of the arts in their personal lives and the value of arts to society. We are guided by Northwood’s Principle, “The Arts Make Good Business Partners,” and focus on exposing students to various art forms while relating the experience to creativity and entrepreneurship.
Student Arts Groups
Provide Northwood students the opportunity to continue developing their talents and creativity.
On Campus Performances:
The Northwood Arts Initiative Program brings internationally known artists to the campus for multi-day residencies incorporating classroom demonstrations, demo-lectures, assemblies, and performances. In addition, local painters and photographers conduct workshops. As well, local arts groups hold art shows, musical, and theatrical performances on the Northwood campus throughout the year. Rotating art exhibits are set up in the Butler Gallery throughout the year.
Road Trips:
The Dallas/Ft. Worth area has a wealth of artistic resources, including world class orchestras, museums, and theaters. Opportunities abound for students to experience some of the best artists in the world. Each term, the Campus Arts office offers discounted tickets to various events. Past performances include the Ft. Worth Symphony Orchestra, The Texas Ballet’s Nutcracker, and Theater Arlington’s Driving Miss Daisy.
The Campus Arts Office is located in the Butler Building, room B101. For more information, call 972.293.5401 or e-mail the Arts Director at pritchet@northwood.edu
