Rollie Massimino Elected to National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame

At a ceremony in Kansas City, Missouri this past Sunday, November 24, Coach Rollie Massimino received much deserved honors for his coaching success when he was inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. With over 700 career victories in the books, Coach Mass joined other college basketball legends as part of the 2013 class.

But basketball success is only part of Coach Mass’s story. Because of his leadership, Northwood University counts former student-athletes among our alumni who are making a real and lasting difference around the world. A practitioner of “family first” in both his personal and professional life, Coach Mass has left a deep and long-lasting impact on all those who have known and worked with him during his eight-plus years here at Northwood.

Congratulations Rollie on your well-deserved election to the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame, and thank you for all you do to bring excellence to Northwood University.

Make Giving Thanks a “Daily Holiday”

Speaking of thanks, tomorrow, November 28, we join with the rest of America in celebrating Thanksgiving Day. While it is right and good for us to set aside a day for giving thanks as a nation, I also want to encourage you to carry this over into your everyday actions. As the American essayist and poet Ralph Waldo Emerson encouraged, we ought to “…give thanks continuously. And include all things in [our] gratitude.”

In that same spirit, I thank you for all you do to make Northwood University and the world a better place for all.

Wishing you and yours a safe, warm, and peaceful Thanksgiving.
