Northwood University Speakers Program Adds Vitality to Academics and Campus Life
Since its birth in the Middle Ages, the mission of the university has been to bring out the very best in students by immersing them in the very best educational environment possible. One of the ways Northwood University is keeping this mission alive is through an exciting new speakers program we are launching in 2013-14.
Consistent with the speaker programs hosted by our Freedom Seminar, Forum for Citizenship & Enterprise, and Values Emphasis Week, the NU Speakers Program will expand both the number and variety of experts we bring to our campuses system wide as well as the means by which we reach our audiences. By offering Northwood students a rich and broad range of speakers—in person and via live webcast—who are subject matter experts in their fields and industries, we increase the quality of the learning environment at Northwood while expanding our value proposition in the higher education marketplace.
In addition, an increase in the number of speaker events at Northwood means an increase in the flow of people, businesses, and organizations visiting our campuses. With unique campus settings not visible from nearby roadways, increasing the amount of public traffic and activity on our campuses is a vital aspect of current and future growth plans.
Among the many speakers we will welcome this academic year is John Blundell, the author of our summer Omniquest selection Ladies for Liberty. A past speaker on Florida, Michigan, and Texas campuses, Mr. Blundell will speak on topics related to his new book on Margaret Thatcher, his second about the “Iron Lady,” Remembering Margaret Thatcher: Commemorations, Tributes and Assessments.
Watch for future updates about this new and exciting program and the many speakers who will be visiting our campuses system wide.
Finally, remember to mark your calendars if you’ve not already done so: Northwood will host and celebrate the Golden Anniversary Auto Show on our Midland campus next week, September 27-29.
Have a great weekend!
