The Lancaster Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Northwood University President Dr. Kevin Fegan has been named the 2013 Person of the Year in the Best Southwest by the Lancaster Chamber. Dr. Fegan will be honored at the Chamber's annual awards luncheon on Thursday, February 13, at the Lancaster Recreation Center. He is the first person to win the newly formed award.
The Person of the Year in the Best Southwest Award recognizes a professional who has made significant contributions to their local economy as leader, advocate and mentor. Criteria include building partnerships between educators and the business community, exceptional leadership, and demonstrated success in addressing the need of the region's labor market. Fegan was selected for this award because he and the chamber share a common vision—the revitalization of our communities through education, innovation and visionary thinking.

He joined Northwood as a staff member in 1987 as assistant director of academic computer services and an instructor on the Midland campus. In 1988, he became registrar for the Midland campus and in 1990 was named director of registrar and academic counseling.
