Northwood University recently named Rachelle Butts as the director of admissions for the DeVos Graduate School of Management. As the leader of the admissions and recruiting team for the DeVos Graduate School, she will work with the admissions staff on recruitment across all three campuses in Florida, Michigan, Texas and all site locations.
Rachelle comes to Northwood University with experience in both for-profit and nonprofit university systems. Her most recent assignment was campus director with Wright Career College in Overland Park, Kansas, with oversight of academics, financial aid, admissions, corporate sales, operations and career services placement.
Ms. Butts is pursuing a doctor of philosophy in leadership for higher education from Capella University. She earned a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in international business management from Madonna University and a bachelor of arts in international trade and foreign language from Eastern Michigan University. Moreover, Butts studied in Paris, France, at L’Université de la Sorbonne et l’Université de Paris IV. She is fluent in French and basic in the Spanish language.
Dr. Brian Sandusky, vice president of enrollment management, states, “Rachelle has a strong interest in adult learning, specifically at the graduate level, corporate sales and admissions. She will be a great asset to our admissions team.”
Keri Nieto, currently director of admissions for the DeVos Graduate School, will assume her new role as director of admissions for traditional students at the residential campus in Midland.
Dr. Sandusky comments, “Nieto possesses a wealth of management experience along with a strong understanding of admissions, marketing strategies and sales practices. She has a genuine passion for education which will aid her in this move to her new position.” Nieto’s responsibilities will include developing, implementing and managing the residential campus enrollment program.
Nieto received her bachelor’s degree from Northwood University. She and her family currently reside in Midland.
These two position changes are effective December 16, 2013.
