Northwood students at Chipotle in Cedar Hill
CEDAR HILL, Texas – To kick off the school year the Kappa Delta Chi Interest Group at Northwood University hosted their first fundraiser at the Chipotle in Cedar Hill, TX on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. The ladies received half of the proceeds from the hours of 5PM-9PM at this delicious Mexican style restaurant who are nationally recognized for their fresh ingredients and amazing burritos. Faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends came out to support the ladies. The ladies were able to reach their goal and were very grateful for the support they received.
The sorority interest group has more benefit nights, exciting fundraisers, and community service events in store according to their leader, Sarah Martinez. “This process is challenging but along the way I have strengthened my leadership skills, and I have learned a tremendous amount about unity and responsibility. I think I can speak for myself and the rest of the ladies when I say that I learn more every day,” said Sarah Martinez. Future plans for the ladies include another benefit night at Chili’s, Sunday the 20th of October and a community service event with the Girl Scouts of the Northeast Texas Council. This year the ladies have added 13 new members to their interest group and have a very positive outlook for the coming year.
